Went Back to the Keys for the entire month of March 2025 to avoid more Michigan Winter!

Returning to the Florida Keys for the entire month of March was like stepping back into paradise—only this time, we had even more time to soak it all in. It was a month full of sunshine, laughter, and unforgettable memories as we embraced the island life together. We shared quality time as a family, welcomed new friendships that blossomed over sunsets and shared stories, and even had relatives—some who had never traveled before—make the journey down to join us. Watching them experience the magic of the Keys for the first time made everything feel even more special. From lazy days at the pool to spontaneous adventures and evenings filled with good food and great company, the whole month felt like one long, joyful celebration.

Day one of our month in the Keys couldn’t have started off any better. We kicked things off with a relaxing day at the pool, soaking in the sunshine and easing into vacation mode while enjoying the warm breeze and tropical vibes. Later in the afternoon, Chris and Ron headed out for an evening fishing trip that stretched into the dark, filled with excitement and adventure. The sunset was absolutely stunning—fiery oranges and deep purples lighting up the sky as they cast their lines into the open water. As the stars came out, so did the fish, and they had an incredible catch, including snapper and other local favorites. The highlight of the night? Chris reeling in his very first tuna—an unforgettable moment that had everyone cheering. Also Hooked a shark in the canal but didn’t get it on land. It was a perfect start to the trip, full of fun, laughter, and memories that set the tone for an amazing month ahead.

We were so excited when Dave came down for a weekend visit and stayed with us—it made our time in the Keys even more special. We filled the days with laughter, starting with fun games that had everyone smiling and in full vacation mode. One night, we went out for a delicious dinner at Skipjack, where the food was amazing and the atmosphere was lively. Afterward, we jumped into some spontaneous karaoke, belting out tunes and cheering each other on—it was a blast! We also made time for some great family photos, capturing those happy, sun-kissed moments that we’ll treasure forever. Of course, we spent plenty of time relaxing at the pool, enjoying the sunshine and each other’s company. John joined in the fun too, making it a perfect weekend full of great food, music, laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends!

Pool time together in the Keys was pure bliss and quickly became one of our favorite ways to relax and connect. Whether we were floating under the warm Florida sun, sipping cold drinks poolside, or just chatting and laughing together, every moment felt easy and joyful. The water was always the perfect temperature, inviting us in for long, lazy afternoons with music playing in the background and not a care in the world. Sometimes we played games or had playful splash battles, other times we simply lounged and soaked in the peaceful vibe. With palm trees swaying above us and the smell of salt in the air, our pool time felt like a little slice of paradise—simple, sun-drenched happiness we’ll always remember.

Lana…..Where do I start? Lana quickly became so much more than just my pool buddy—she’s now a dear friend who I’ll treasure forever. From the moment we met, we clicked instantly. Her spunky, sassy personality reminded me so much of my Grandma June, and that familiar spark made me feel instantly connected to her. Plus our bond over our dislike for people, especially at OUR POOL! Lana, originally from New Jersey, brought so much laughter, warmth, and energy to our days by the pool, and we found ourselves talking for hours like we’d known each other forever. The most incredible coincidence was learning that during her journey from New Jersey to Marathon Key, she stopped for a night in Melbourne, Florida—just two miles from where my Grandma June used to live. It felt like fate had brought us together, and that connection made our bond even more special. Every moment spent with her was full of fun, honesty, and heart, and I know our friendship is one I’ll always cherish. I just absolutely love her.

Exploring Faro Blanco Resort was such a fun and memorable part of our trip. The resort itself is beautiful—modern, coastal, and perfectly nestled along the waterfront with breathtaking views of the Gulf. One of the highlights was the iconic white lighthouse that stands tall at the edge of the marina, adding a touch of nautical charm and making for the perfect photo backdrop, especially at sunset. We wandered along the marina, admiring the stunning boats and yachts docked in the calm, turquoise waters, and watching pelicans glide effortlessly overhead. The entire property had a relaxed, upscale vibe, with inviting lounge areas, tropical landscaping, and a peaceful ambiance that made us want to stay all day. We enjoyed grabbing drinks and just taking it all in—the salty breeze, the sound of gently rocking boats, and the warmth of the sun. Faro Blanco was the perfect place to unwind and explore, and it captured everything we love about the Keys.

Having my mom and dad come to the Keys for their very first real vacation was one of the most meaningful parts of the entire trip. They never travel, yet alone fly on a plane, so having them take that leap and spend five days with us in paradise was truly special. Watching them relax by the pool, soaking up the sun with drinks in hand and big smiles on their faces, filled my heart with joy. We shared delicious meals together, introduced them to our friends, and just enjoyed each other’s company in a way that felt rare and precious. Seeing them laugh, unwind, and embrace this little escape made me realize how important it is to create these kinds of memories. I’ll always be so grateful they took the time to come down and be part of this chapter in our lives—it meant the world to me to share this experience with them, and those five days will forever hold a special place in my heart.

As our time in the Keys came to an end, we found ourselves reflecting with full hearts on just how magical this trip truly was. The memories made with family—the laughter, the pool days, the sunsets, and the shared meals—are treasures we’ll carry with us always. But one of the greatest and most unexpected gifts of this adventure was the deep, genuine friendship we formed with John and Lana. What started as casual conversations by the pool quickly turned into a bond filled with laughter, stories, and heartfelt connection. Their warmth, humor, and love added something truly special to our time in the Keys. We’re so grateful for the moments we shared and the friendship that now feels like family. This journey was more than a vacation—it was a time of joy, discovery, and connection that we’ll never forget. Here are the extra random pics of our fun trip!
