Happy New Year! Florida keys style! So this year we flew out at 8am on new years eve from detroit to ft lauderdale florida. We picked up our red convertible mustang and started our 2 hour drive to marathon key, florida! Chris’s parents own a condo there and normally head down in november but after his moms horrible 4 wheeler accident and surgeries they had to stay north a while longer. So Chris and I decided to take a vacation down to the condo and get it all cleaned and opened up to help out his parents while enjoying some us time!  We arrived on New years eve to the condo around 4pm and by that time we still had to clean and unpack and go to the grocery store. we were exhausted at this point. So we got everything done, freshened up and walked down to the bar down the road called dockside to listen to the band and ring in the new year! We ended the night back at the condo eating chicken wings from publix and potato chips!

Now that we were rested and ready for vacation we decided to drive around and explore the keys a bit.  We stopped at a few overlook places to snap some pictures along the way! We hit the beach down the road. Sombrero beach. We hung out there in the sun for a while then watched the sunset. It was so pretty.

We had a few pool days. Those are my favorite. We would wake up, cook breakfast, then head to the pool. After the pool we would come home get ready have a nice dinner then head to the tiki bar for a tropical drink or two! Pina Coladas were my thing on this trip!!

Then of coarse we had to go to key west. We always love to walk around there and explore the many shops, bars, restaurants, and entertainment! Sunsets are awesome there to! We stopped by all the classic places… the dollar bar, fat tuesday, sloppy joes, and the boardwalk for the street performers and the sunset.

Our last day we drove around down random streets just exploring. made some stops at a beach, a snorkel store, the marathon lady, and had lunch and drinks at Havana Jacks. This trip was my FAVORITE VACATION OF ALL TIME! It was just Chris and I alone in a tropical paradise. I can’t wait until our next adventure! We are going to Windsor Canada!!!
